The final touch. Varnishing is one of those ex The final touch.

Varnishing is one of those extremely satisfying moments in the studio where a painting finally starts to come into its own. It deepens the colours, protects the surface, and gently pulls all the layers and marks together so the work can settle into its finished state.

A small but important part of bringing a piece from the studio into the world.

From afar, the work has one feeling. Up close, you begin to notice the small marks, gestures, and layers that make up the whole.

There’s something special about the parts that ask you to slow down and spend a little more time looking.

Simple things, used every day, that continue to inspire the act of making.

A reminder to keep playing. Even after years of A reminder to keep playing.

Even after years of working as an artist, there’s still so much value in experimenting, getting messy, and following curiosity without knowing exactly where it will lead.

Not every mark needs to have a purpose right away. Sometimes the most interesting moments come from simply exploring what paint can do.

The process is allowed to be fun.

Certain blues keep appearing. The greens are softer than I'm used to.

Paint has a way of finding its place. More ofte Paint has a way of finding its place.

More often than not, it ends up on my hands before it ever reaches the canvas. It's a small reminder of the physical side of painting - the mixing, the layering, the constant back and forth between instinct and intention.

One of my favourite parts of the process.

The Pathways series is a collection of paintings t The Pathways series is a collection of paintings that grew through exploration and curiosity.

Each piece became a place to experiment with colour, movement, and the relationship between structure and spontaneity.

It’s a body of work that reminds me to stay open to where the process takes me.
