Spontaneous moments of joy via my Waterbuckets
In the studio I am often surprised by the beauty and spontaneous compositions on the peripheral edge of my painting practice; say, the way the palette looks after a day of painting. My Waterbucket series showcases whimsical and beautiful worlds that happen by chance via my water bucket.
Each photograph in the Waterbucket series is expertly framed with a signature circular mat creating a port-hole/portal (wink, wink) into a whole new world!
Imagine that this is a photograph of an island. What might it be like to live there?

The water source in my studio is down a flight of stairs and down the hall which means I have a whole bucket system in place to aid the painting process. Picture this: I am painting away, tossing rags, paint water and brushes into the bucket, and busy focusing on the painting I am working on, when something catches my eye and the whole room stands still. This beautiful wee world in my waterbucket, full of stories, calls out…hellloooo! I add nothing and alter nothing, simply document. This process fills me with awe, wonder, and gratitude. It is these spontaneous moments of joy that I want to share with you!
